The Clements House, Assateague Island
Leon Ackermans "Baltimore Boulevard" ran for 12 miles on Assateague. It was destroyed mostly, in the storm of '62......along with the thirty structures built on his 5,850 sold lots. Property on Assateague was mostly sold to buyers as a speculative investment, not as a place to build their home. Had it not been for the storm Assateague would have become another Ocean City. Gotta love mother nature.........
