Sunrise on the way in was sweet.
The road is getting more and more narrow every year.
One of the few sandy bottom places you can safely wade into.......The buildings are located in the woods straight ahead.
One of my favorite trees on Assateague is located on the west side of the island, I've never seen it with leaves!
Probably the largest fresh water pond on the island graces the south end of the island.....my view as I ate my lunch. Usually full of ducks but none today.
For as long as I have been hiking the island this patch of moss has been growing on the sand "dune" in back of the lodge.....only green around in the winter!
Generator shed would be a nice little house for me............
West side of the club.
Memories were made in this room........and a few hangovers I imagine!
Kitchen chimney had gone down since my last visit.
Iconic front door.
The walk back....
